If you have any health concerns about your tortoise, lizard or snake, then please feel free to contact me directly at the clinic(details below) or by E-mail (vet@prestigeherps.co.uk). Both services are in themselves free of charge and I may be able to help you without the need for a visit. Should you need to take things further however, then we do offer a full veterinary service for your reptile at both the clinics.

Resident Veterinary Surgeon

DAVID FELDMAR   BVMS MRCVS.
I qualified from Glasgow University in 1993 and started working at a small animal practice in Eastbourne. At that time I already had a large reptile collection and this interest grew into a large private breeding program. This has involved working with many specialist species both in terms of general husbandry, breeding, disease and treatment. . In addition to this I have spent a large amount of time dealing with husbandry concerns of shop customers. In treating the problems that arise not only in our own stock but in customers too, I have gained a broad knowledge of all the common reptile problems associated with herpetology.

The Reptile Clinic was set up in 1997 on a part time basis with the idea of offering veterinary advice and treatment to clients in Sussex. In 1998, as interest grew, the reptile clinic in Brighton was increased to an every day surgery and in September '99 we  started a second clinic on a part time basis in Sevenoaks. This is more convenient for people from the Kent and South/East London areas, for which Sevenoaks is much easier to get to than Brighton.

Pennards Veterinary Group - Sevenoaks

Pennard House, 5 Eardley Road, Sevenoaks, Kent. TN13 1XY
Tel: 01732-452344 (Fax: 228610) or E-mail: vet@prestigeherps.co.uk

Opening Hours: The practice itself is open six days a week but the reptile clinics are only being held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. They start at 4:30pm but this may vary from week to week. Appointments can be made by ringing Pennards any day between the hours of 8:30am-6pm and the receptionist will make you an appointment between the hours stated above and give you help with directions as necessary.

Charges: These vary according to the species concerned. As a policy we try to keep them realistic for people who otherwise may not be able to afford to get the best advise possible. However , they do reflect the limited species span of the work we do at the clinic. A first time consultation is scheduled for 20-30 minutes and costs; Snakes:£26.95, Lizards:£29.95 and Tortoises:£34.95
(+ further treatments/drugs) with any subsequent shorter visits being prices according to the time required to deal with the problem.

How To Find Us: Pennards Veterinary Group is situated in easy reach of the M25 and has ample parking facilities. Coming either via the M25 or M26 leave the motorways at M25 Jct.5 initially heading down the A21 but quickly leaving this road and following the signs for Sevenoaks along the A25. At the large Riverhead roundabout follow the 'London Road' (A224). Follow this until you reach the station and then turn right immediately after the station into Granville Road. Take the first left turning and this is Eardley Road. The Veterinary surgery is at number 5 on the right hand side. The Veterinary group should have its own site up and running soon (www.pennardvetgroup.com) and this will have many more details including maps of how to find us there.

New Priory Veterinary Practice - Brighton

The Deneway, London Road, Brighton. BN1 8QT.
Tel: 01273-540430 (Fax: 541955)  E-mail: vet@prestigeherps.co.uk

Opening Hours: The Practice itself is open seven days a week but the clinics are held Monday to Saturday at 1.00pm, although times and days do vary week to week. Appointments can be made by ringing the New Priory any day between the hours of 8.30am-6pm and the receptionist will make you an appointment between the hours stated above.

Charges: As detailed above in the description of the other clinic.

How To Find Us: The clinic in Brighton is relatively easy to find in that it is only on the Northern outskirts and getting to it does not involve going into Brighton itself. The junction to find is a large roundabout at the bottom of the main A23 at its junction with the A27. If you follow the A23 (London Rd) south from this roundabout towards Brighton you are only half a mile from the Practice. This can be found further down the London Rd. on the right hand side just after the first mini-roundabout you come to. The Practice is sign posted off the main road and the area is called the Deneway. Having turned off the main road, the Practice itself is up a small lane on the right before the railway bridge.
